Calling All Passengers...

I have to say one of the best parts of caring for this web site is receiving correspondence from the people who had the experience of sailing or working on board S.S. United States. These memories consist of everything from vacations to people coming to the country for the first time to start their new lives as Americans. Some 50,000 people are known to have immigrated aboard this ship - and what a more fitting way to be carried to America - aboard the S.S. United States.

If you sailed as a passenger or worked as a crew member aboard the United States, tell us your story. It helps us to rebuild the legacy of the Big U and show the rich part she played in the history of your lives, the country and the world. Please keep your letters to 500 words or less if possible. You can send your stories and photos to this e-mail address - [email protected]

Looking forward to hearing from you!
